Water Boosting Sets
For properties that suffer from low water pressure, whether it’s a domestic or commercial, a water booster pump is designed to aid water flow in systems that lack pressure. This is often used to push water to the upper floors of tall buildings, ensuring adequate pressure on every floor
A water booster pump is designed to aid water flow in systems that lack pressure. Typically, this is used to push water to the upper floors of tall buildings, ensuring adequate pressure on every floor.
The size, type and number of pumps that are required will vary depending on the size of the building and also the number of users.
There are many types of pump, but the most common type used in water distribution is the centrifugal pump, so we’ll focus on this.
A water pressure booster pump works with an expansion tank which has a bladder and is pressurised. The pump pulls water into the tank on the side of the bladder which, in turn compresses the air in the bladder and the water becomes more pressurized.
Booster pumps are either operated manually or by an on-demand system. In the manual system, you simply turn on the switch when you want increased water pressure. An on-demand system monitors the water system and turns on when there is an increased need for more water. An on-demand system is certainly convenient but more expensive than a manual system.
Booster pumps can also be used outdoors to irrigate a garden. Often the water doesn’t flow far enough or fast enough to easily water a garden or lawn so a booster pump is a good solution.
